Largo, MD – Prince George’s County Executive Jack B. Johnson, joins the Economic Development Corporation to host the Small Business Initiative’s Fifth Annual Awards Breakfast, on Friday, February 26, 2010, at the prestigious Camelot of Upper Marlboro, 13901 Central Ave, Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The theme for this year’s event is “Inner Glow, Outward Success: Small Businesses Fulfilling Their Purpose”. The keynote speaker, Ms. Marion Luna Brem, President/CEO of Love Chrysler, embodies the essence of this theme. Ms. Brem will share how she tapped into her “Glow” to overcome a life-threatening illness, and later became President of her own automobile dealership.
The Small Business Initiative (SBI), along with county and state officials, local business owners, bankers and developers will celebrate their achievements and share new initiatives of the SBI Program for 2010. A special premiere preview of The Glow Project – The Movie will also be showcased, with the keynote speaker, Marion Luna Brem. The Glow Project has brought together prominent corporate achievers and dynamic entrepreneurs, to share how they manifest, unleash and expand GLOW.
“Helping corporate executives learn how to use their inner passions, will enable them to move their companies to the next level,” said Charlotte Ducksworth, SBI Director. The SBI Program has helped businesses to build their capacity to be competitive in the Washington DC marketplace, and to gain access to more than $100 million in capital and contract opportunities. “The SBI staff has done an exceptional job of fulfilling their mission to increase access to contracts and expand the capacity of county businesses,” said Kwasi Holman, President/CEO of EDC.
